I thought making it in a 13×9 dish would result in a thin pie so I made it in a 2 qt dish ( you will need to put a sheet pan under it because it will probably bubble over). I used more vegetables as a personal preference. The mashed potatoes were very good . My family liked it (and generally would not care for sheoherd’s pie) so I would make again .

I made your Shepherd’s Pie today. It was so good. We ate it often when we lived in England and yours is the best. My husband who cares nothing about food, puts ketchup on bread and calls it a sandwich, raved about it. He had two big servings and said it was the best he has ever had. Now, that is a huge compliment.

I’m not crazy about adding tomato paste because of the bitterness so I add ketchup. It’s really yummy.
