I made this recipe yesterday. It was delicious, sauce amazing. But i did have a couple issues. It is huge, if you’re a family of 4 or more great. We are 2, although i had my son and his wife for dinner last nite. There was enough for me to send generous portions home with them and freeze half for us.
My issues….my choices, not a fault with the recipe at all. I did cook the sauce for 2 hours, almost did more as some suggested. The issue was that it made the sauce rich and thick, it reduced it, therefore i didn’t have enough sauce for the last layer. I should have thinned it out. The second is i baked at 375 as directed and timed it for the 50 min. plush 10 to rest. But when i got the pieces out, much was very dark/burnt on the bottom. There for i would bake at 350 next time. As i said it was delicious…would definitely make again. Cut the recipe in half for my husband and I, and still have plenty for company or to freeze.

In reply to Bridget. What you are looking for is known as a lasagna pan. It's a 9x13 pan that's 3-inches deep rather than 2-inches.

My second time making this. Nothing really to say but DELICIOUS! But do let it cool way down before serving or you’ll have lasagna slop. Still great but better cooled down.

I have made your lasagna recipe for hundreds of police officers now and they absolutely love it and said it was delicious. THEY LOVED IT! Thank you!!! They all talked amongst themselves about how cool it was that someone made them home-made lasagna. A great way to show support for law enforcement.

Hands down the BEST lasagna Ever! I make it with Italian chicken sausage, bc we don’t eat pork; otherwise there’s nothing to change! Yes it takes forever to make but it’s not difficult.
My only complaint is I cant eat lasagna in restaurants now, bc this recipe has RUINED me for everything else!! Tysm for sharing this gem!

I make it with frozen ravioli instead of lasagna noodles (I love Costco’s.) It’s delicious and such a timesaver. No messing with lasagna noodles. You can use cheese & spinach ravioli too. Sooo good!
