Excellent. Had it for dinner, and everyone loved it.
Although now I have to order a french bread pan……
Took the entire 600g of flour. Had a panic attack when I noticed it took instant yeast. I used my bread machine instant yeast, and it overflowed my bowl when it finished rising.

I have made this bread before but as I prepared it for a New Year’s Day dinner, I made a few changes. One intended – using bread flour for the first time- and then absentmindedly adding the beaten egg into the batter. Undaunted, I baked the loafs and wound up with the BEST bread I have ever made. Who knew?

Hello. I am a total newbie to bread-baking, but was getting tired of spending $4+ on a loaf of bread at the store. I watched your video a few times and gave it a try. To my surprise, it turned out great the very first time. I haven’t been buying bread at the store for quite some time now. This recipe tastes better than anything I had been buying, plus it is INFINITELY CHEAPER!!! Well, maybe not infinitely, but you know what I mean.

I still chuckle every time you say to “give that egg a good little beating”.
