In my local Olive Garden, the salad is made with iceberg lettuce and topped with grated Romano cheese. The dressing is more vinaigrette than creamy. Ours also sells bottles of their dressing. Your recipe looks tasty and fresh is always best.

Everyone loved it including adults and kids! I did add a tbsp of sugar to counteract the acidity of the lemon and more olive oil. I chopped up the olives and peppers into the salad also. It was so yummy and easy to make. You could use honey instead of sugar too.

I have not made this dressing yet, but I’m excited to give it a try! With that said, after working/managing at Olive Garden for 5+ years, I can promise that those are just regular canned black olives, not kalamata olives, and the block of cheese in the graters is Romano, not Parmesan. SO many people just assume it’s Parmesan, and I always got a big “whaaaat?!” when I told them about the cheese

I followed the recipe exactly and it was way too watery. I added another cup of mayo (1 1/2 c total) but it’s still really thin. I will let it set up in fridge to see if it will thicken up. Has anyone else had this problem?

Your recipe is much tastier and half the amount of sodium. I worked there for 17 years and had tons of their salad. For quite a while now they quit using romaine lettuce and they use black olives. I prefer kalmata olives and love romaine. The funny thing is any time someone found out I worked at Olive Garden EVERY single time people told me their favorite thing is soup and salad. I truly enjoyed your version and will continue to make it.
